Lisa Walters
Lisa Walters was born in 1924 and spent much of her childhood in Worcestershire where she developed her lifelong love of nature. She had no formal art training but wonderful teachers at school who encouraged her artistic talents.
She marrieed the exhibition designer Neville Walters in 1946 at London where they lived until the early '50s when they moved to Surrey. Here Lisa started painting, large pictures in oils, mainly of still life and nudes. She developed a unique technique of using very thin paint. After the death of her husband she moved out of the area for some years but returned in the early 1980s when she took up painting again and creating her beautiful garden. Her subjects this time were animals, especially hedgehogs, fairies and flowers, now using watercolour.
A unique and eccentric, loving and lovable person with a quirky sense of humour she was extremely critical of her own work. She seldom exhibited any of her paintings and sold few but it seemed to her daughters such a shame that her work should go unrecognised. When she died in 1999, they set up Opus Cards in her memory.

Thea Olrog
Thea works mainly in watercolour and pastels producing enchanting pictures of animals. She undertakes commissions including pet portraits and Christmas cards in which she shows her love of the natural world. Thea was born in 1952, to artist Lisa Walters and exhibition designer, Neville Walters, and was brought up in Surrey. She now lives on the south coast with her son and enjoys gardening and has been involved with a number of animal charities for many years.
